Real World returns to Las Vegas

MTV is bringing back The Real World to Las Vegas for the third time. The first time was in 2002 with Trishelle and Steven etc. Then they brought back the same cast in 2007 for a six-episode reunion.  This time around … a whole new cast of twenty-somethings will be storming Vegas and bringing their drama and hogging for attention. Yes, I’m bitter. I’ve always wanted to be on the show and I’m way above the cut off age of 24.  :(

This new cast of Real Worlders will be housed at the Hard Rock CafĂ© instead of the Palms Casino Resort. I wonder what happened to the Maloofs?  Anyway, I found this link with a list and pics of the supposed cast members.  Enjoy!

The 25th season of the Real World starts in March on MTV.

 CAST INFO: (not confirmed)

The only show I watch from the list of winners is Modern Family. I actually just started watching it this season. It's pretty funny. Hot In Cleveland is okay. I saw the pilot, it's funny but I guess this is more targeted towards the older female demo.  We'll see how it goes..

Congrats Modern Family!

Jersey Shore Grenade

Did anyone else see that attention whore on Jersey Shore last night? Ok let me rephrase that.. Did anyone see that non-castmember attention whore on Jersey Shore last night? While Deena and the wannabe Ronnie were fighting at Karma, this blonde grenade wanted some camera time in the background.

oh and I felt bad for the rumor this guy spread about Denna. lol.

American Idol Review (Jan 26, 2010)

American Idol was on last night. It was actually pretty good. At this point of the competition no one really knows who's who but I usually just use random descriptions of people I like.

Here are the people that stood out for me.
1.) The exotic looking girl who works at the Summerfest music park. She's really good.
2.) The 16 year old baseball player/country boy with a deep voice. I don't like country that much but this kid is really good.
3.) Ok this chick wasn't a contestant but... i thought it was really funny when the girl got a charlie horse when her friend/brother/boyfriend made it to hollywood. funny stuff
4.) My favorite from last night has to be the Filipino girl, Thia Magia. She killed that Adele song! After doing some research, I found out that she was a semi-finalist on America's Got Talent too. Check out her audition video below.

new Project Runway Spinoffs

The Weinstein company is planning to come up with two new spinoffs of their Project Runway brand. Are you ready for this...  Project Runway MASTERS and Project Runway: ACCESORIES. The idea sounds very familiar... hmm hint hint Top Chef. I bet Padma and Gale are pissed.
Just like Top Chef Masters, Project Runway MASTERS is a competition for already established designers. And just like "Just Desserts", Project Runway Accessories are for ... accessory designers. I can't seem to make that equivalent to desserts but eh.. same thing.

The Slow--est finale ev...er

Omg… The Fashion Show’s finale was the slowest show ever made on TV. The top three were Calvin, the girl, and the black guy. I don’t even know their names because they were so boring. These contestants were like Project Runway rejects.  Besides Calvin, the asian guy, these people had NO personality and talked.. soo.. slow. The girl had more giggles than talent, and the black guy’s voice was super high pitch and slow.  I finished wrapping 30 lumpias and they barely finished their sentence… and all they had to say was “I like to drape fabrics.”
If you really care, the black guy wins The Fashion Show. Lose-lose for everyone.. including myself for watching it.

FACE OFF

I’ve been looking forward to this show since I heard about the pilot last year. SyFy’s Faceoff is like the Project Runway/Top Chef/ Top Design for special effects people. “The contestants are tasked with elaborate feature challenges including executing full body paint make up on models and creating their own horror villain. Not only will the show incorporate effects make-up, it will include a wide range of skill sets including prosthetics, 3-D design, sculpting, eye enhancers, casting and molding. Each episode involves incredible reveals of the competitors' finished work, and the drama of one contestant being sent home by the panel of expert and celebrity judges.”

Faceoff starts on WEDNESDAY, January 26 at 9 pm  on SyFy.

BEING HUMAN

What happens when a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf live together in a house in Boston? SyFy has a new series called Being Human about three twenty somethings living double lives as non-humans. The premise sounds cool and I already set this on my DVR.  The show started last week but ydon't worry ... I have  last week’s episode below. (i hope the link works!)

Mean Girls 2: awful

Lindsey Lohan must be rolling in her... rehab bed right now. ABC Family's Mean Girls 2 was horrible. I gave it a chance and sat through the 2 hour made for TV movie and was mad at myself for watching it in the end. Saying it did not live up to its predecessor is an understatement. It lacked the witty humor and the charm that made Mean Girls a pop culture "success."
Besides having the same principal (Tim Meadows) and referring to the popular girls as "The Plastics" the show was dull and predictable and was nothing like Mean Girls at all.  I expected some cameos of some connections to the original characters but ... blah. No wonder why ABC Family didn't go all out promoting this movie. I want my two hours back!

Catchy Show Titles

TLC's show titles always intrigue me. Whenever I flip through channels, I always stop and click on TLC's interesting shows.

Here's a list of upcoming TLC Shows:
- My 40 Year Old Child (Jan 23)
- 600 Pound Mom (feb 20)
- The Man Who Lost his face (TBD)

.... I'm sorry but how the hell do you lose your face?.

Drew Carey's IMPROV-A-GANZA

Remember Drew Carey's imrpov show "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" Drew Carey, and his new hair, is teaming up with Game Show Network to create "DREW CAREY'S IMPROV-A-GANZA." The lineup of imrov actors include Mimi from The Drew Carey show and some actors from LA's The Groundlings.  DREW CAREY'S IMPROV-A-GANZA is set to premiere on March 28, 2011.

New Bravo Shows

With the success of the Real Housewives and Top Chef franchise, Bravo is coming up with more guilty pleasures this year. Let's see if they'll be hits or flops like NYC Prep (which i loved) and Make Me  A Supermodel.

Here are some of Bravo's upcoming shows (dates pending):

Million Dollar Decorators (April): This show will explore the professional and personal lives of some of LA's hottest high-end interior decorators. This looks like  spin-off of million dollar listing. This is perfect for interior designers like my friend Derrick Prodigalidad.

Pregnant in Heels (April): This show is like a mashup of MTV's Super Sweet 16, WE's Bridezilla and... i guess being pregnant. Follow "maternity conceirge," Rosie Pope as she deals with her high end Manhattan clients in planning their extravagant baby showers, parties, and even scheduling a pregnancy portrait ... with a horse.

Rocco's Dinner Party (Date TBD): contestants compete to throw the ultimate dinner party for Rocco DiSpirito and his friends. Rocco is that one dude from the reality show from years ago on NBC that showed the ins and outs of running a restaurant in NYC.

TOP CHEF update: Bravo is milking out the TOP CHEF franchise with a Top Chef cycling through the whole year. There's exciting All Stars running right now, and there's Top Chef Just Desserts, "regular" Top Chef, and Top Chef Masters. Speaking of Top Chef Masters ... hunky chef Curtis Stone will be replacing the Asian  chick ... I already forgot her name. on a sidenote, my roommate hates her.

Glee Reality/Talent Show

Glee is hot right now. Ryan Murphy will executive produce a reality competition spinoff called The Glee Project on Oxygen network. The winner will win a 7-episode role in Fox Network's Glee. The Glee Project will air this summer.

my opinion:  Cool show... but I want more of Sunshine Corazon!

Look for the first Gleekend to air February 5th on Oxygen from 11am to 11pm.
